8 Hour MSHA Refresher
Three Day New Miner Classes
Instructor Specialist Caterpillar Regional Training Center
I have over 20 years' experience in writing, producing and facilitating training programs. Experienced in reading the audience, staying focused, sticking to detail and covering all topics outlined for discussion. I became Green Belt Certified in Six Sigma over eight years ago, a process of streamlining from beginning to end on how a job function is completed. Rather than time killing, time waster videos and traces of non related issues found in many MSHA refresher classes, I focus on each individuals work assignment and have them give a step by step detailed explanation of how their safety could be compromised due to negligence brought on by complacency. I Certified as an MSHA instructor April of 1996 as well First Aid/CPR with National Safety Council in 1995. I have 14 years involved with mining and construction business while employed at Empire Machinery, LLC. I taught Empire employees as well as outside customers at the mines or at the Caterpillar Regional Training Center in Mesa Arizona. I supervised and traveled with transport drivers, transporting equipment to sand and gravel pits as well as the various mines throughout the state of Arizona. Safety was first and foremost one of Empire's Values that has been with me for many years. I experienced a fatality as a manager of a family owned tire business during the late 70's and know that this tragedy could have been avoided if complacency hadn't caught us all by surprise. It was horrific and from that time on, safety has been a top priority in all areas of my experience wherever I have been employed. I have a passion for safety, enjoy the teaching moment, have fun and learn something new from my audience every time I meet with those that have been there done that!
